3. Silkeborg

The City of Silkeborg, which was founded 150 years ago is the most beautifully situated town in Denmark. You can combine unique nature experiences with exciting attractions and an active shopping centre. The Silkeborg district forms the framework for a creative artistic environment with its numerous art exhibitions as well as the Silkeborg Museum of Art

Silkeborg is also known for its charming excursion boats that run on the river Gudenå and on the lakes between Silkeborg, Himmelbjerget and Laven.

Every 3rd or 4th year, Silkeborg is the scene of the largest fireworks display in Northern Europe. The famous Fireworks Regatta transforms the lakes and the Gudenå River into a colourful spectacle of fireworks and music. Music is also well catered for in Silkeborg. Every summer there are festivals of traditional jazz, rock and country music.
